Chapter 3: Captains Club
The Captains Club, inspired by Tournament Founder and Host Jack Nicklaus, serves as a distinguished advisory group dedicated to upholding the traditions, integrity and continued excellence of the Memorial Tournament. Beyond annually selecting the Tournament Honoree, the Captains Club convenes leaders in the game to celebrate golf’s rich history while shaping and supporting its future growth around the world.

Chapter 2: A Legendary Pro-Am
The Workday Golden Bear Pro-Am continues the legacy of a fan-favorite tradition. Ten years before the first Memorial Tournament was played, the “Columbus Pro-Am” was established to fundraise for the then Columbus Children’s Hospital. The tenth edition was hosted by Muirfield Village Golf Club in the fall of 1975 soon followed by the first Memorial Tournament the next spring. Celebrity guests who accompanied Jack Nicklaus included: Glen Campbell, Sir Sean Connery, President Gerald Ford, Jackie Gleason, Woody Hayes, Bob Hope, Evel Knievel, Flip Wilson and several PGA TOUR players.
