2006 Top 10 Finishers

In route to his second career PGA TOUR victory, Pettersson grabbed the outright lead at the 2006 Memorial in the second round and never looked back. His 12 under par, 276 was two shots better than his closest competitors, Brett Wetterich and Zach Johnson who tied for second. With the victory Pettersson became just the fifth different international player to win the Memorial, joining Ernie Els (South Africa, 2004), David Graham (Australia, 1980), Greg Norman (Australia, 1990, ’95) and Vijay Singh (Fiji, 1997).

Pettersson’s Memorial Tournament victory vaulted him inside the top-50 in the Official World Golf Ranking. His $1,035,000 first-place check was the largest of his career and boosted his season earnings to a career-best $1,990,101. With the win Pettersson surpassed the $6-million mark in career earnings.
