Els set a Tournament record for fewest total putts at 100 en route to his 2004 victory. Furyk, the Memorial’s 2002 winner, is ranked No. 2 in Memorial Tournament scoring average with 70.73 and No. 3 on the all-time Tournament money list with more than $2.2 million. Three-time winner Perry recorded his first PGA TOUR victory at the Memorial in 1991 and then followed up with victories at Muirfield Village Golf Club in 2003 and 2008. Singh won a rain-shortened event in 1997, one of his six top-10 finishes at the Memorial. He is ranked No. 3 in Tournament scoring with 70.91 stroke average.
In other Memorial Tournament news, the Jack Nicklaus Golf Clinic, scheduled for 4:30 p.m. EDT Tuesday, May 31, will include Rickie Fowler, Rory McIlroy, Masters champion Charl Schwartzel and 2010 Memorial winner Justin Rose, all who previously committed.
The Memorial Tournament will host over 500 Central Ohio youths during The Memorial’s Clubhouse Kids 2011 Junior Golf Clinic on Wednesday, June 1. Held at Safari Golf Club at 5:30 p.m., this annual event will feature PGA TOUR veterans Billy Mayfair and Brett Quigley, along with the Dennis Walters Golf Show.
Mayfair and Quigley will host an exhibition sharing personal insights and presenting shot demonstrations, rules of the game and instructional tips.
All-week Patron Badges to the 2011 Memorial Tournament are available to the general public. The badges, valid May 30 – June 5, cost $155 and include a complimentary Wednesday Practice Round ticket. As always, kids 12 and under can attend for free and kids 18 and under are admitted free on Wednesday for Junior Golf Day. Daily tickets for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday practice rounds are also available. The cost is $30, and they are valid for all three practice-round days.
