The Memorial Tournament presented by Workday added to PGA TOUR Championship Series

DUBLIN, Ohio – The Memorial Tournament presented by Workday, founded and hosted by golf legend Jack Nicklaus, today announced it will be part of the PGA TOUR Championship Series beginning in 2028, continuing a proud legacy of 50-plus years as the PGA TOUR enters an exciting era with a new competitive model.

The complete 2028 PGA TOUR Championship Series schedule, including tournament dates, venues and event names, will be announced at a later date.

First announced in June 2026, the PGA TOUR Championship Series will feature the PGA TOUR’s top performers competing head-to-head across the season. There will be approximately 23-24 events, inclusive of THE PLAYERS Championship, major championships, postseason and international team events (Presidents Cup, Ryder Cup), with the season running from February through August.

“The Memorial Tournament presented by Workday is proud to be included in the PGA TOUR Championship Series, professional golf's preeminent competition structure,” said Dan Sullivan, executive director of the Memorial Tournament. “True to the Memorial’s founding pillars created by Jack and Barbara Nicklaus, the Tournament has remained, since its inception in 1976, focused on honoring golf’s greatest traditions while consistently hosting golf’s most accomplished players of today. We recognize Workday for their long-standing partnership and support, joining so many others in ensuring the Memorial remains well positioned going forward. Our focus is to provide the patrons, community, volunteers, and partners with the opportunity to enjoy the highest level of competition on the PGA TOUR on one of the premier courses in the sport to benefit charitable partners in central Ohio and beyond.”
