50-Year Volunteers

2026 Volunteer of the Year

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Memorial Tournament, the Tournament is proud to honor not just one, but six extraordinary individuals as our 2026 Volunteers of the Year. These six remarkable ladies have each dedicated fifty consecutive years of unwavering service. Their continued generosity of time and energy has left a lasting impact on players, patrons and fellow volunteers alike.

Connie Everhart In 2025 Connie volunteered 18 hours for the NCH Committee plus the hours she volunteered in the Media Room. Served as Chair of Courtesy Cars in 1987 – 1988 before moving into being the Chair Elect in 1989 and Chair in 1990 of the Women’s Division Committee for the Tournament. Connie has volunteered for many committees: Will Call & VIP Courtesy Center, Parking Pass Pickup, Membership Ticket Pickup, Courtesy Cars, Transportation including Courtesy Car Return and participated in Outsee Night making sandwiches.

Marsha Temple In 2025, Marsha volunteered 12 hours for the NCH Committee plus the hours she volunteered in the Media Room.  In the past, she has volunteered for the Volunteer Committee (when it was in the trailer), Courtesy Cars (before, during and after the Tournament), Will Call & VIP Courtesy Center, Parking Pass Pickup, Membership Ticket Pickup, and participated in Outsee Night making sandwiches.

Dee Justice In 2025, Dee volunteered 24 hours for the NCH Committee, mostly for Disabled Services.  On Tuesday evening, she volunteered with the Outsee Gals, making sandwiches, as she has done for many years. Dee served as the Assistant Chair of Concessions in 2006-2007and chair in 2008.  Before and after being on the committee, Dee was a Stand Captain for concession stand 2.

Shere Everett In 2025, she volunteered 16 hours for the NCH Committee, Status Boards 12 hours, and Volunteer Center for 4 hours.  In the past, she has participated on Tuesday nights with the Outsee Gals, making sandwiches.  Shere was chair of Status Boards 1993-1996 and chair of Spectator Relations (this may have been renamed to Patron Information) in 2008-2011.

Jean Burman In 2025, Jean volunteered for 12 hours selling bears and participating in the Bear Tagging.  Jean volunteered for several committees, one of which I thought was interesting, “Scrip in Clubhouse”.  They had a long table in the clubhouse right outside the dining area.  Non-members could come in and exchange their money for Scrip that would allow them to eat a meal in the clubhouse that day.  Jean has volunteered for many committees throughout the years, including Bears, Courtesy Cars, Duplicating, Leaderboards, Status Boards, Souvenirs, Concessions, and Spectator Relations.

Barb Miles Her parents Jim and Mary Nolan were the original Marshal Chairman in 1976 and Barb was a volunteer under them.  Eventually, she took over when her parents were no longer able to serve and she has been the chairperson ever since.  She works alongside her husband Nate, daughter Annie and Ike Wampler, who are all as dedicated as she is.  Barb works countless hours to help organize the marshals and knows most of them personally, as she has grown up with them!  She has only worked on the Marshal committee for the entire 50 years…
