Dublin, Ohio – Officials of the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide announced today that the Tournament has accepted entries from World Golf Hall of Fame member and five-time major winner Phil Mickelson, 2018 Memorial winner Bryson DeChambeau, two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson and PGA Championship winner Jason Day to compete in the premiere invitational Tournament founded and hosted by golf legend Jack Nicklaus.

The 2020 Memorial Tournament will be contested at Muirfield Village Golf Club the week of July 14-19 in conjunction with the PGA TOUR’s adjusted tournament schedule due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Mickelson, who turned 50 this month, has teed it up at the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide 19 times. His first appearance came in 1991 as an amateur when he finished tied for 66th place. In his last 14 starts at the Memorial, dating to 1999, Mickelson has finished in the top-20 eight times. His best finish was a T-4 outing in 2006. He withdrew due to injuries in 2007 and 2012 and finished T-13 in 2018 with rounds of 74-66-70-68. He missed the cut last year after a second-round 79. His Memorial Tournament career earnings total $1,178,188.19, and his scoring average at Muirfield Village Golf Club is 71.46. The left-hander has been a member of a record 12 U.S. Presidents Cup teams and 12 U.S. Ryder Cup teams. Through 10 starts this season, the Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., resident has recorded one top-10 finish, a third–place effort in defense of his 2019 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am title. Mickelson is currently ranked No. 66 in the Official World Golf Ranking and No. 95 in FedExCup standings. On the strength of 44 career PGA TOUR titles, he is ranked No. 2 in career earnings with $91,299,439.

DeChambeau enjoyed a career-best 2017-18 PGA TOUR season, and his playoff victory in the 43rd Memorial was the catalyst. His three victories propelled his season earnings to more than $8 million and a third-place finish in FedExCup standings. The California native continued his inspired play last season, adding his fifth-career title giving him at least one win each season for three consecutive years. Through nine starts in his 2019-2020 campaign, DeChambeau ranks No. 1 on TOUR in Strokes Gained Off-The-Tee and No. 2 in total driving distance with a 320.5 yard average. His improved prowess off the tee has led to six top-10 finishes including a second-place effort at the World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship and a T-3 outing at the Charles Schwab Challenge. His current FedExCup ranking is 13, and he sits at No. 11 in the world. At 24 years, 8 months and 18 days, DeChambeau became the fourth-youngest winner in Memorial Tournament history behind Hideki Matsuyama, who was 22 years, 3 months and 7 days in 2014, and Tiger Woods’ 1999 and 2000 victories. In three career starts at Muirfield Village Golf Club, DeChambeau has earned $1,723,360 and his scoring average is 69.75.

Watson, 41, recorded his first-career PGA TOUR title in 2010 at the Travelers Championship. He has since captured 12 in all, his last two coming in 2018 at the Genesis Open and World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play. Watson has claimed two Masters titles and has enjoyed four multiple-win campaigns in 2011, 2014, 2015 and 2018. A resident of Windermere, Fla., Watson has competed in 11 TOUR events in the 2019-20 season and recorded three top-10 finishes, bringing his career earnings to $45,569,542. The two-time U.S. Presidents Cup and four-time U.S. Ryder Cup team member is currently ranked No. 46 in the world and No. 52 in FedExCup points. Watson’s best finish in his 12 previous appearances at the Memorial Tournament is third in 2014. He finished T-44 in his last start in 2018. His scoring average at Muirfield Village Golf Club is 71.64 and his career earnings in the Tournament total $977,794.75.

Day has become a solid fixture atop PGA TOUR leaderboards since winning his first title in 2010 at the HP Byron Nelson Championship. Since then he has posted 15 top-10 finishes in major championships alone, including a T-5 finish at last year’s Masters Tournament. He captured his first major in 2015 at the PGA Championship and owns a total of 12 PGA TOUR titles, his last two coming in 2018 at the Farmers Insurance Open and Wells Fargo Championship. The 32-year-old Australian native, now living in Columbus, Ohio, has been a member of four International Presidents Cup squads (2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017) and has PGA TOUR career earnings of $46,744,348. He has recorded one top-10 finishes this season and is  No. 56 in the world ranking and No. 97 in FedExCup points. Day will be making his 12th start at the Memorial. He grabbed his best finish at Muirfield Village Golf Club in 2017 when he tied for 15th. He missed the cut in last year’s Tournament after rounds of 75-74. Day’s Memorial Tournament earnings stand at $345,497.44 and his scoring average is 72.06.
