Final field announced for the 47th playing of the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday

DUBLIN, Ohio – At 5:49 p.m. EDT today, Tournament officials announced the final field for the 2022 Memorial Tournament presented by Workday. The contingent of 120 players represents 23 major championship titles and features the reigning FedExCup champion and PGA TOUR Player of the Year Patrick Cantlay, who twice won the Memorial Tournament, including last year in a playoff over Collin Morikawa.

The 2022 Memorial Tournament presented by Workday will be contested next week, May 30 – June 5, at world-renowned Muirfield Village Golf Club, and will mark the 47th edition of the prestigious invitational Jack Nicklaus started in 1976.

The list of top-10 players in the world rankings competing includes No. 2 Jon Rahm (2020 Memorial Tournament winner), No. 3 Cameron Smith, No. 4 Morikawa, No. 6 Cantlay, No. 7 Viktor Hovland, No. 8 Rory McIlroy and No. 9 Jordan Spieth. Rahm and Matsuyama are past winners of the Memorial, in 2020 and 2014, respectively.

The top players in the FedExCup standings who have committed include No. 2 Smith, No. 5 Hideki Matsuyama, No. 6 Cantlay, No. 7 Max Homa, No. 8 Tom Hoge, No. 9 Rahm, and No. 10 Spieth.

Other notable entries include major championship winners Jason Day, Bryson DeChambeau, Shane Lowry, Adam Scott and Patrick Reed. DeChambeau, who won the 2018 Memorial Tournament, has not competed since the Masters Tournament because of a hand injury that required surgery.

In addition to Cantlay, DeChambeau, Matsuyama, and Rahm, other past Memorial winners returning to Muirfield Village Golf Club include Jason Dufner, Matt Kuchar, David Lingmerth, and William McGirt.
