FINAL FIELD ANNOUNCED FOR THE 41st PLAYING OF THE MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT PRESENTED BY NATIONWIDE
Golden Bear Club reaches sell out for third consecutive year
Dublin, Ohio – At 6:00 p.m. EDT Tournament Officials announced the final playing field for the 2016 Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide. World No. 1 Jason Day leads a contingent of 120 players for the 41st edition of the prestigious invitational Jack Nicklaus started in 1976.
The list of entrants includes, in order, seven of the top-10 from in the Official World Golf Ranking: No. 1 Day, No. 2 Jordan Spieth, No. 3 Rory McIlroy, No. 4 Bubba Watson, No. 5 Rickie Fowler, No. 8 Dustin Johnson and No. 10 Justin Rose (2010 Memorial winner). The 2015 field also boasts eight of the top-10 on both the FedExCup points list and current PGA TOUR money list.
In addition to Rose, seven past winners of the Memorial Tournament will be returning to Muirfield Village Golf Club, including K.J. Choi, Ernie Els, Jim Furyk, Matt Kuchar, Hideki Matsuyama, Carl Pettersson and David Lingmerth, the 2015 winner.
In other Tournament news, badges for the Golden Bear Club have officially sold out for the third consecutive year. Fans that purchased the upgraded badge will have access to a menu of items for purchase catered by Cameron Mitchell Premier Events, a cash bar, television viewing, private restrooms, scoring terminals and open seating in a sports bar atmosphere.
The Golden Bear Club is located within Patron Village in the heart of Tournament play between Hole No. 10 fairway and No. 14 green. Patron Village includes an area that is open to the public featuring upgraded food and beverage options, open patio seating and more.
The public may yet purchase badges and package options for the 41st Memorial Tournament through the end of the day by visiting www.memorialbadges.com. Weekly Patron badges, which are valid Monday through Sunday and provide access to the Tournament grounds, are available for $182 each. Kids 16 and under can attend for free with a ticketed adult, and kids 18 and under are admitted free on Wednesday, June 1, for Junior Golf Day. Daily practice round tickets for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are also available. The cost is $35 and they are valid for all three practice-round days. During Tournament week, practice round tickets can be purchased at all gates, the pro shop located in the 6th Tee Parking Lot and the Memorial Patron Will Call Center (6189 Memorial Drive).
