Workday Shines Bright Light On Community, Charity & Service At This Year's Memorial Tournament

For this month’s E-Newsletter, Workday continues its sponsorship of the Memorial Tournament, an elevated PGA TOUR event that welcomes a world-class field of competitors. Read to learn more about how Workday is celebrating the people involved in this year’s Tournament including employees at Workday and Workday’s esteemed charitable partners, the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

In less than two months, Jack and Barbara Nicklaus will continue the tradition of bringing the world’s best golfers to Muirfield Village Golf Club as part of the Memorial Tournament. It will be the second year that Workday, a leader in enterprise cloud applications for finance and human resources, serves as the presenting sponsor.

Workday will continue to highlight its deep relationships in golf welcoming brand ambassadors (to be announced) and business and community leaders to Dublin, Ohio. Workday aims to power greatness in its partners and this year will be no different as Workday, alongside Jack and Barbara Nicklaus, will bring a diverse community together in Dublin and Columbus. In February 2023, Workday debuted its first-ever Big Game commercial, "Rock Star", about the importance of celebrating “rock stars” of business. That focus on celebrating people will be evident at this year’s Memorial Tournament.

Namely, Workday will expand outreach to the incredible veterans in its workforce and local communities. In addition to the Memorial’s yearly Military Outpost and Military Appreciation Brunch, Workday is dedicating its suite on Hole No. 18 to host Gold Star families as both the Memorial Tournament and Workday honor the memory of individuals living and deceased who have distinguished themselves in service.

The technology company also continues its strong commitment to purpose working with changemakers to get game-changing results. First, Stephen and Ayesha Curry’s Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation has made an incredible impact in the Oakland community with Workday and the Foundation raising nearly $6M over the past three years with 100% of the proceeds going to support Oakland youth. The 2022 Workday Charity Classic focused on Eat. Learn. Play.'s work around early childhood literacy, and to date, those funds have provided over 1,000 classroom literacy projects in Oakland public schools, the building of 60 Little Town Libraries, and the distribution of tens of thousands of new books to Oakland students.

Additionally, in the last year, Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) delved further into their groundbreaking work to develop pre-eminent clinical and research programs to create the best outcomes for children everywhere. NCH has been a Tournament charitable partner since 1976 and is a pillar leading the way in clinical research and care not only for the families and children in Ohio but across the country and globally. The combined efforts of the Memorial Tournament’s charitable partners—Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and the Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation—drive incredible impact through their shared focus on the well-being, health, and growth of families everywhere with the deep support of Workday and the Memorial Tournament.

Workday is excited to be back in Columbus supporting the local community and growing its partnerships in the area.
